Food great , price fair, service could use some work but overall good place
They taking seriously the social distance is a tables out side. Is a clean place. and the workers are friendly.
Poor service, long and unnecessary wait time
not the nicest physical environment but the food is great. order at the counter, food is brought out quickly. super cold beer, fresh tortillas, free nachos and salsa bar, excellent prices = I ate there we nights in a row ( was visiting the area on business)
Pretty good tacos, super cheap.
Absolutely won't return to this place and don't recommend it. Everything too greesy and tasteless. TV showing grusome images and interior dark and uncomfortable. The tacos were my worse experience, the tripas were super dry and not well cleaned (so much unrelevant stuff in it) not to mention that I got sick after eating here.
Decent mexican food a bit over priced but then again the area that is located in, does not know good Mexican food from a taco bell
Cheap and tasty food that opens till late night. I love the beef tongue taco!!
The food and service was outstanding! We will definitely be back!
Tasty and more or less authentic Mexican. However, the place is rather dirty, smelly and with cheap ambiance. I would only recommend it if looking for authentic Mexican comfort food and do not mind the context.
Good!Friendly. Easy to chat up a little. Food is good, too!!!
The tacos are amazing! Best in Palo Alto area!
Always a go to spot for our work crew when in the area. Fast, comfortable, and tasty. I'll give it five stars after I try more from the menu.
Amazing- great food selection, prices are climbing slowly. It's just the region
This is our favorite taqueria! They just upgraded to LED screen menus which look great. We love their green salsa and their pico de gallo blend.
Delicious tacos de lengua, done the proper way! Yummy and deliciosa!!
Go to place for comfort food. Carnitas nachos are my favorite!! Haven't had anything I didn't like. Wonderful service and very clean.
Good, but $16 for a chile relleno super burrito, and prices are not posted
Probably won't be going here again. Customer service was great, but the food was ok. I think there's other Grullense's that are way better.
Great tacos. Good salsa bar. Low-key authentic Taqueria
I was surprised with their food. Its very delicious and authentic mexican food. The salsa is sooo good! I got a burrito that was great too. Definitely check them out for authentic food
This place is not clean, tables are misplaced and cooking is not hiegenyc at all, i ordered super nachos but chips were burnt, not a good flavor, meat were old like if it was over the grill from days.Tables are durty and they have not enough space for guests to sit properly. This place must be inspected from the Health & Safety Dept.
Good place to have a meal
Delicious tacos, chorizo and burritos amongst a huge menu that’s easy to be overwhelmed by. Highly recommend!
Real mexican food. Great service and they have free chips. Well priced so I highly recommend it
Homemade tortilla food is always yummy
I love this place. Mexican food here is worth it. and I am Mexican. I been coming for like a decade and I prefer going little extra bike ride here instead of Baja Fresh. You want greasy food and big portion for good price. They are so friendly and loved the workers there. One lady knew my order Because I would order this so often. Anyone I brought has loved it and couldn’t believe the price for the amount of food. Even though I can’t sit and eat I am still getting take out you can’t beat it.
Very authentic Mexican taqueria with excellent prices, good flavored food and nice employees. My complaint is that we purchased 2 chili verde burritos and the chili verde in both burritos was very fatty. The chunks of meat had a lot of fat attached. Since both of us try to eat relatively healthy, it required us to pick out the meat from the burrito and separate the fat from the meat (which is a little messy of a process) before we could eat the chili verde. Next time I’m here, I’ll order another type of meat in my burrito.
Yesterday I was informed prices increased because Celia's Restraunt increased prices. There is no comparison. Celia's has to support more wait staff and, was Celia"s rent increased? There is no reason to charge $10 for rice beans a tortilla and a little meat. A bag of rice costs $2 and a bag of pinto beans costa $2 and can feed a family of 10, being Mexican , I know. In addition I ordered Carmita tacos. Unfortunately the quality of the meat was poor to non-edible I felt like I was eating beef jerky. Please improve the quality of the food if you want to stay competitive and increase prices. There are plenty of affordable taquerias in Mountain View and Redwood City..
Very good food there plate selection has many different combinations from vegan to fish and different kinds of meats for plate i had the # 31 grilled shrimp and onions rice and beans, salad w/ flower Tortillas and topped it off with a Modelo fresh condiment selection i like there sliced Cucumber very well priced im from SJ but when ever in the area or hungry on the way home from the City I try to STOP here and eat give it a try
I am fully satisfied with the food portion here and the friendly service. Have already been in this place three times this week, would recommend if you are nearby, but don’t think it worth a long drive just for the food here.
Been here a couple of times. I've always ordered the Wet Green Burrito and have been fully satisfied with the taste. This time around it was more spicy then flavorful, but that's okay because the chips made it that much better. Also it was rather warm inside today (4/21), much warmer then outside!
Very good authentic Mexican no-frills food at decent prices. Order at the counter and listen for your number or food getting called out. Satisfying portion sizes, friendly staff.
How did I never come here as a Stanford student?! This place is legit. Great Chile verde with homemade tortillas. Big plate of food and a beer for $20 and I’m a happy camper.
The tacos al pastor are where it’s at! I ordered a cheese enchilada with rice and beans (yes, I know— bad move at a taqueria), and it was super disappointing. But the tacos al pastor (shawarma-style pork on a spit) were fresh, flavorful, the meat really moist, and the price great. The elote (Mexican street corn) was okay, but def have had better. It had too much lime/sourness in the mayo coating and the corn appeared to be only boiled, rather than grilled some to give it better flavor. The restaurant was large with plenty of seating. I’ve heard the original location in Redwood City is the best, so will be trying that one next.
Decent tacos at the El Camino Real. What a convenient spot. Love the Al Pastor and Asada.
Cheapest, authentic and best Mexican restaurant in Palo Alto. Even free chips are tasty.
Maybe 4.5 starts out of 5 possible stars. Excellent food. No microwave that I can detect. Food is hot, tasty, moist, not too spicy and large portions. I ordered #15 enchilada platter. Starving and satisfied me. Also ordered box of fresh cut mango. Delicious! Glass of water free with ice. Nice. One of my best taqueria experiences.
Good food authentic mexican large menu fast service and chips salsa as complementary good place to enjoy mexican much better than the mexican chains around. Good hot food to fill appetite.
This is a great place to get some good Mexican food. The variety of dishes is great!- Free chips..Yay!- One of the best Verde salsa and pickled carrots and jalapenos I've ever tasted which is a good indicator of authenticity- Quantity is really good- Will come back for more for sure!
I like the meaty fries but if you order them Togo, they don’t give you ALL the toppings!!!
So good so fresh and so inexpensive. I will definitely be back again sometime soon.
I go here every week. Sometimes twice a week. The food is consistently very good. You won't necessarily be blown away by anything on the menu, but the portion sizes are massive, prices are decent, and the chips are free, and in my opinion, that's the perfect trifecta for a local taco shop.
Decent size taqueria place with a wide variety of items. What this place lacks in cleanliness, it makes up in it's churros. Definitely try the fresh out of oven churros that are both crispy and soft. I had tacos, horchata and beans. The tacos were okay. The refried beans were good and the horchata was okay. Tacos are soft and meat is crispy. I liked the carnitas better than the tripas. It has a beautiful picnic area outside which is awesome
Fast service. Authentic options. Chilaquiles were made with stale chips. Was disappointed in discretion of the staff. If you're a Mexican who looks white and they want to judge your order, they are comfortable being loud about it in Spanish. You won't see me here again...
I had an assortment of small soft tacos (carnitas, chorizo, fish), which were pretty good and not expensive. They were $2 - $3 each. There's a ton of stuff on the menu which looks really good (but I wasn't hungry enough for anything large). The average price for bigger items (whole plate, a full meal) seems to generally run $10 - $15. There's a lot of seating and a basic non-fancy atmosphere, though it's a bit grungy.I'd go again (preferably when hungrier!).
Great yummy Mexican food! Best thing is it runs till 12am and the food is tasty. Every time I crave for Mexican food this is the place to go! Free bottomless salsas (couple flavors all good) and chips!! Fish taco so good yummm....must try!
Very good taqueria and the selection is enormous. I would say you little pricey for the type of food and plates. But it is Palo Alto so you can charge this much. Place is nothing special or great. If you see a taco truck on the side of the road your better off saving a couple of bucks.
More than a taqueria is a Mexican eatery. Many traditional Mexican dishes.Tripa and asado tacos are good.
Had the Meat Fries (Carne Asada). Meat lacks marinade. Fries were crispy and good! Cheese was good. The salsa was a little too much tomato tasting almost like a spicy ketchup. We also had the burrito. Rice was at the bottom of the burrito. Same with salsa too.
